Apparently this is in the wrong aspect ratio so i've heard.

Anyone have it to confirm ?

It's in 1.85:1. Home Cinema Choice did a comparison with the trailer, which is 2.35:1 and there's definitely information missing from the sides.

However, no one has confirmed what ratio the movie itself was actually released in, during its limited theatrical run, so who knows.

After this night watched the movie, I think the aspect ratio was 1.77 or something, because it had 16:9 full screen at my LCD TV, no bars at all...so if it had 1.85 ratio, it must be had bars at the top and bottom...this is very good action-adventure movie, so entertain for me

It's been shown on various HD pay-per-view cable channels in 2.35:1, so it's obviously a cock-up.

What is going on? First the Kings Speech is 1080i 25fps and now Ironclad is the wrong aspect ratio. Cant believe the distributers don't want my money!

It seems to be a regular occurrence with titles in this country.

I'd just import the US version but i'll lay money on it being exactly the same disc/transfer.

Apparently the US disc is in the correct aspect ratio of 2.35.1.

Guess i'll import this then after all.

Also, the US disc got a commentary track with the director (which the UK disc apparently doesn't have?).

WTF? It isn't even just cropped - it is like they focussed on the right of the frame in all those shots. I'd have put up with it if open matte. I wish this sort of crap by the studios was publicised with the release details. I'd have not ordered it. It shipped before I found out.

I'd send it back if the cost wasn't prohibitive. I think I'll stick it unopened in the waste basket.

Apparently this has now been remastered and replacements are available. But there seems to be some problems still.

I received my replacement for Ironclad but they have messed up the contrast and the black level is now a bright grey so they still haven't corrected it properly unlike the US version which has deep blacks.

Don't know how reliable that "review" is and whether this rematered version is available in Amazon UK.

I've ordered this title but is there any way to tell if the copy I get is the new one without opening it? e.g. different barcode. Obviously the aspect ratio listing on the back cover wouldn't have changed so that won't help but I don't want to have to send it back to Amazon only to find it's an issue that I opened it.

If anyone has the title can you add a scan to the database entry - that would help in identifying any changes between the two. I'm hoping for something like the Pocket Blu logo we got on Gladiator which is an easy identifier.

The distibutor acknowledged their mistake (not only was the aspect ration wrong but the transfer was horrible) and corrected all subsequent versions. They very kindly sent me a corrected copy (which looks great) when I emailed them.
