Songs that make you think of TV shows - Blu-ray Forum

I'm not a huge music guy, only really listen in my car. I might have to start listening to Atmos Music though haha. Sometimes I hear a song on the radio and it'll immediately make me think of a old TV show. Does this happen to you guys too? What songs do you think of?

I'll start. Every time I hear Bob Seger's Old Time Rock and Roll I think of Growing Pains Jason and the Cruisers ep with Allen Thick's performance and a big smile comes across my face.

I watched a lot of 'Saved By the Bell' as a kid in the 90s. So when I hear 'I'm So Excited' by the Pointer Sisters or 'Barbara Ann' from the Beach Boys I think of it.

The Drew Carey Show used to do music videos within the show. I remember them doing “Five O’Clock World” by The Vogues and “What is Hip” by Tower of Power. They also used “Cleveland Rocks” by The Presidents of the United States as the show’s theme song for a few seasons.

For me that song makes me think of 'Grey's Anatomy' as it was prominently featured in a couple of episodes and then ABC began using it to promote the show during commercials.

Usually, I think of old TV shows when I hear their theme songs on the radio. For example, B.J. Thomas' song "As Long as We Got Each Other" was used for the hit show Growing Pains, so I associate it with that every time I hear it.

I assume it was on the radio at some point, because there's a full album version of the song available on YouTube.

Whenever I hear Fleetwood Mac's Landslide, I'm reminded of the countless shows which use it for some syrupy closing montage.

Whenever I hear Natalie Imbruglia's "Torn", I immediately think of Charmed. They used a lot of late 90's/early 2000's songs and bands.

"Wherever You Will Go" by The Calling and "You and Me" by Lifehouse make me think of Smallville.
