Default Shrek Forever After Teaser Trailer

Article Link

Quote:
The first trailer for Shrek Forever After, the fourth installment in the Shrek franchise, has popped up online. We’ll direct you there in a second.

If you haven’t yet heard what the film is about, here’s quick rundown:

Quote:
Longing for the days when he felt like a “real ogre,” Shrek is duped into signing a pact with the smooth-talking deal-maker, Rumpelstiltskin (see pic above) and finds himself in a twisted, alternate version of Far Far Away, where ogres are hunted, Rumpelstiltskin is king and Shrek and Fiona have never met. Now, it’s up to Shrek to undo all he’s done in the hopes of saving his friends, restoring his world and reclaiming his one True Love.

Yeah… I really liked Shrek and was even one of those people who enjoyed Shrek 2 even more than the first one. All I can say now is that its a damn shame that they didn’t quit after the second film…

Seriously, nothing in that teaser made me laugh, nothing got me excited, and before they dropped the whole “In 3D” line while showcasing a scene that clearly demonstrates just how gimmicky the 3D in this movie is going to be, I was already wondering to myself, “Is this some straight-to-DVD special I’m seeing, or an actual trailer for the film?”

Not to mention, the “story” for this film – which is hard to grasp from that teaser – is as ridiculous as they come. People are screaming that Avatar is a cliched story? I better see pitchforks and torches when this It’s a Wonderful Life knock off hits theaters. I can only hope that The Puss In Boots spin-off film is better than this.

shrek-forever-after-movie-posterVoice work will be done by Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy, Antonio Banderas, Julie Andrews, Justin Timberlake, Jon Hamm, Maya Rudolph, Amy Sedaris, Larry King, Regis Philbin, and Kathy Griffin.

What did you think of the teaser?

Shrek Forever After will be in theaters (yes, theaters) on May 21st, 2010.

Indeed, a new director though may make it less terrible. I only wish we could see a return to the quality of the first two (doubtfull, but possible).

I thought Shrek 2 was horrible. Loved the 1st film. 2nd was trash. 3rd was the slime that drops off of trash. 4th? Can't say. Could be good - who knows - but I think people are catching up to the fact that there's only beeon one good movie in this series, and they've grown exponentially worse with each installment. Hence all the pre-release hate.

I saw the first and thought it was good, never bothered with the sequels.

I thought the first was okay, it wouldn't kill me to watch it. The second was pretty bad IMO and I didn't bother to see the third. This looks like it could be good though; it looks kind of epic. I'll probably wait for reviews.

I think it's going to be dreadful, if any of you have seen a short thing called shrek 3D, you should know how gimicky this film is going to be.

Dreamworks just don't know how to do 3D.

Kinda liked Shrek but it hasn't aged well. The pop music doesn't help. Just went downhill with Shrek 2 and 3. The teaser looked bad, but I did laugh at Puss sliding down the cat tree.

Surprisingly, I actually enjoyed the Shrek Christmas Special.

I enjoyed the Shrek 4D attraction at Universal a lot more than any of the sequels.

Uh, you did see the actual teaser, where they blare "The Final Chapter!" all over the poster and advertising didn't you?
Jeff K. had been planning to go all the way to #6, but then "Shrek the Third" happened.

(You're welcome--Not God, but just filling in. )

Not interested at all. Shrek 2 was mediocre, Shrek 3 killed all the excitement for the series.

I was at my grandmother's in Missouri for Thanksgiving and for "family movie time" they decided to watch Shrek 2 on DVD - Shrek 2 has pop culture satire so obvious and moronic, it makes the writers of Mad magazine look like contributors to the New Yorker. Don't get me started on the American Idol parody at the end of the Shrek 2 DVD - Holy God - it's like they took joke submissions from a deeply untalented group of 6th graders. Family Guy, at it's worst, has the same flaw -- it isn't enough to simply plop a pop-culture reference into a scene, or have a character imitate a moment from another movie -- That's not even parody or satire, its just an imitation of something you've seen before. That's not comedy. It's painful to endure - like bad, loud Karaoke. It makes you embarassed to be in the room. That's Shrek 2 and 3.

Why not just release the first one on blu instead, that's what the people here want, not another "Shrekquel"! But I'm sure lot's of goody goody soccer moms eagerly waiting to take their precious bundles of joy to this muck! I was front end superviser for a movie now defunct Multiplex movie theater and every time one of these crappy sequels (we would always get like 4 prints of the film) comes out, my theater would be trashed buy those damn brats, and parents are equally to blame and are piggies just like them leaving drink cups and popcorn spills and candy on the floor.I had a perent literally say to his kid: "just leave it there, there are people paid to clean it up and I paid good money to see the movie", what an ******* IMO. People don't know what a freaking dustbin/trashcan is, they would use the floor! Don't have to worry much about it now, the theater is now bye-bye forever Sorry for my rant.

Shrek the Third, so bad it's capable of shutting down theatres

Hated the third installment... and am not overly keen on the second. In fact if I am going to be completely honest, Dreamworks Animation is a terrible studio!... one that keeps itself afloat by relying solely on sequels to unfathomably successful by the numbers animated fare!

I liked Monsters Vs Aliens, and am disappointed that out of all there movies this is the one that is unlikely to get a sequel!
