Default going from a 61" DLP to Plasma.....

ok I currently have a Samsung HL-T6176S it was good picture and still is for a DLP but it can't hold a candle to Plasma or LCD and I have the itch to upgrade.

here is my dilemma..... I really don't want to down size from my 61" to much but the Plasma's in that range are out of my price range. I can get a deal on a KRP-500M ($1600)but I'll be loosing screen size......

has anyone gone from a larger display to a smaller one and been happy? I know the picture will blow what I have out of the water, but in the back of my mind I am thinking I will not be happy with the smaller screen.

Soooooo..... do I buy the smaller KRP-500M or just wait it out until I can afford a 50" set?
