When will they ever release this masterpiece?

I don't know, but I just saw this for the first time on cable.

I'm not typically a fan of silent movies...but WOW.

Amazing film. Mind-blowing to think that some of the dialogue is taken from the actual transcript of her trial.

The music is incredible.

...Carl Dreyer was a genius.

Not just a great movie but also a fascinating production.

The movie was considered lost/destroyed before someone found it sitting in a mental institution.

I bought the Masters of Cinema version of this movie and it's easily my favorite blu-ray. The package and design is beautiful. It comes with a booklet with informative criticism and the disc itself is loaded with extras. Of course, it's region B.

I'm hoping Criterion upgrades this to Blu, sooner than later.

It is being restored from what I have read, so that's the hold up I would say.

I'm still impressed with the quality of the Criterion DVD. Transfer holds up and the 5.1 track is one of the most powerful I've ever heard. I can only imagine Voices Of Light in lossless format! No serious film lover could neglect their collection by not owning this in some format. A breathtaking masterpiece and Falconetti is a pure vision to behold. Any fan of this film should also look into more Dreyer, especially with this set (half off at B&N right now).
