Yamaha RX-V465BL or Onkyo HT-RC160 - Blu-ray Forum

Looking to pick up a "budget" receiver for my brother. Can get good deals on both of these right now through Bing and Tiger Direct.

Onkyo after Bing $280 shipped
Yamaha after Bing $ 254 shipped

Thoughts on pros and cons on either?

I like the sound of the Yamaha better but I think the Onkyo would have truer power ratings.

It also looks like the Onkyo does some upscaling where as the Yamaha is pass through only?

The onkyo is pretty much a stripped down version of the 607
