Exclamation Best Blu-ray To Buy As A Gift?

I am giving a blu-ray player as a gift and having a hard time trying to figure out what blu-ray to give with it. I don't know who will be getting the gift (gift exchange) so I can't go by that. The movie has to have wide appeal (men, women and everyone is 25+). I don't care about ratings, just nothing nasty. Prefer something that will be watched again and again. Not just a one hit wonder.

What do you all suggest?

It's almost impossible to recommend a movie to some unknown person, of an unknown gender, of an unknown age with unknown tastes and preferences.

Isn't the blu-ray player enough of a gift as it is? If not, you might be better off just including a gift card to Amazon so they can order something they actually want.

Star Trek maybe

It is geared to practically everyone. Is also considered one of the best films that came out this year. Also, looks and sounds amazing on Blu.

Planet Earth. Shows off the blu-ray technology nicely, and doesn't everyone like nature documentaries?

Other than that... maybe The Dark Knight.

Any gift exchange I've been in has been cheap gifts only ~$20 limit. Anyways, why don't you get UP. Pixar movies generally appeal to everyone.

Yeah, sadly I don't do cheap gifts. Lol. I wish I could, just not in my blood. I think you are right with Pixar though. They appeal to almost everyone.

Dark Knight is another good one - probably too "dark". Lol. I think a Pixar movie might be the best bet.

Go for Up, or Monsters Inc. then.

Just buy all the best movies (in your opinion) from every genre (comedy, action, horror, etc.) and call it a Blockbuster Hit bundle?
