United Kingdom Fringe Seasons

I am so angry, I fall for it everytime. I held off from buying Fringe until they released it in a pack (Which they did) 1-3 for around £31.73 after VAT to Australia. Now I really want to buy Season 4. Obviously the damn price is far too high considering it is roughly the same price to buy the 1-4 boxset or around $40-50 US.

I'm left looking at selling my pack and buying the 1-4 for around the same price I paid for 1-3. Reselling is a pain in the ass especially since the 1-4 is out. I know this is happening with a bunch of TV Shows and my main anger is towards myself for falling for it time after time. Please somebody out there, tell me you're a sucker too.

I should just wait for 1-5 as apparently season 5 is the final season.

This is what I'm going to do. I've been so tempted on occasion to just buy them but everytime the new season comes out its inevitable that that box set will drop by the time the next one comes along. 5 is the final season so once that comes out and drops, ill buy it. that way ill have a complete box set!

In the long run that's the "sensible" thing to do - but yes, like you I've bought a part series only to regret it when a bigger or final box set comes out. It can be so tempting though when there's a good offer or bargain.

If we could all have the self control to wait until a TV show has ended and the biggest and best box set is released we'd all be happier, but who can do that! The silly thing I find about it (for me anyway) is that I'm drawn to buy a series from a current show I'm really "into" - because, y'know, I love it - but then I have no urgency to actually watch the thing I've bought. Like I bought series 1 of Breaking Bad when series 2 was on TV here in the UK - still never watched it!

The other option of self control is to say to oneself that you'll just buy each series individually, no 1-3 or 1-4 box sets, but then what if they change the packaging part way through the run and the spines don't match on the shelf! Another nightmare scenario!

Very good points! The other problem with waiting is I want to see TV Shows in HD and at my own pace (Not waiting a week to watch the next episode) The only way to do this is to wait until shows finish and then buy the complete box sets, however I find it extremely hard to browse sites and forums without having spoilers given away to me. Not only that but by the time the show is in completion people are on to other shows and I hate being out of that loop. I want to be able to discuss it while the topic is hot but I'm left out due to the nature of my viewing lol *violin plays*

This problem is easily solved by releasing individual seasons out at reasonable prices. (Not the same price as a 1-4 box)

I would be willing to pay 15 pounds (which to me sounds fair considering the box set prices) but not the asking price

I blind bought season 1 and 2 box for under £20 a year and a half ago. Then bought season 3 and 4 seperately for £38 when they were released. I don't understand how the 1-4 season box can be only £2 more than the season 4 set?

Major rip off for people who buy the seasons as soon as they are released

New seasons should be priced at half the price they are now when they get released IMO.

Been waiting for season 4 to drop in price for a while.

Decided to buy the 1-4 box set for £40, with the intention of selling the unused seasons 1-3 (I already have them) on eBay to make up the difference.

No doubt season 4 will go down in price soon enough now I have done this!

I will wait for season 4 to drop in price not in a rush to pick it up as I was very dissappointed with Season 3.

Too good a deal to refuse. I will sell my unwatched copies of the first 3 seasons of Fringe on blu ray.

If you only want to get Season Four of Fringe, it is on Amazon.com for $16.99 (£11 before shipping)

Which is still customs safe, as the shipping cost is irrelevant.

The £15 limit doesn't include postage and packaging, so $16.99 is £10.60, you'd only get into trouble if Amazon don't separate the items value and postage and packaging on the invoice. It seems they've sorted out that error (a few members have been stung recently).

Customs only include postage and packaging into the duty when the intrinsic value of the item is over £15 so anything under $24 is safe (for this month).

I'd expect the UK set to drop below £12, it will be a while though! £16.99 shouldn't be too far off, probably next year.
