Default Walmart has Transformers on HD-DVD for 34.99

Check this out: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=7763025 I can't believe I'm still seeing this on the market at Walmart.

Correction: It's 34.86

I saw it in Wal-mart a few months ago and took a picture with my cell phone, but lo and behold, my cell phone's pictures are so freakin' small you couldn't read the price tag, so I figured I wouldn't bother posting it. It was $34.something.

Maybe Wal-Mart thinks it's a collectors item... like when they found all those Atari games in the landfill.

When it launched it on HD DVD it was on sale at Circuit City for $14.99.. They were hoping to get a blip on the nielsen charts and beat blu-ray for one week of sales.. Nope, still failed.

IIRC correctly... when Transformers came out on HD-DVD it was the highest selling HD movie of either format.

I do recall correctly.... http://hometheater.about.com/b/2007/...es-figures.htm

Quote:
this past week, Transformers sold 190,000 HD-DVD discs, which is the highest and quickest number of sales for a single title so far in either the Blu-ray or HD-DVD format.
Blu-Ray won the format war. There's no sense in trying to rewrite history at this point.

They still sell that crap? Oh, well. Anything to satisfy the other surviving HD-DVD owners.

They still have this for 34.86. I guess it is a collectors item now. If it does turn out to be a collectors item, I wonder how much it'll be worth in about 20-30 years from now
