Germany Mission: Impossible (The Original TV Series)

Either I'd seen the listing on Amazon.de for the German release some time ago and forgot about it, or I just found out last week about it for the first time. Am considering getting the German release (would save me getting the US release). Does anyone here have the German Blu-ray boxset?

Have watched the UK DVD releases of the original Mission: Impossible TV series twice (and have a copy of the Patrick J. White book, which is a very good read). I did notice some freezing in two or three episodes in the Season 2 DVD set (which included "The Emerald" and the season finale "Recovery").

I would be interested to know if the Blu-ray discs for M:I's second season include a couple of episodes in the second half ending with the Paramount Television logo, like in the UK DVD set. Prior to that logo, in the UK DVD set for Season 1 and some of Season 2, the episodes end with the Desilu logo.

I have the german Edition, but I never checked the Logo during the Ending, because I always skip the credits.

But there was so freezing and the picture Quality is very good. But the Box itself sucks. Just a big amaray box with 2 disks behind each other and they are very hard to get out.

I've posted some pictures of the box here:

Thanks Sawasdee for that helpful post, and the pictures of the packaging design and inside of one of or both cases in the German boxset. This type of Blu-ray case reminds me very much of the DVD case type used by VEI in their 'Complete Collection' DVD boxset of Jake and the Fatman (that was one thick case inside a thin card slipcase with something like three or four discs stacked on top of one another in various places inside the case).

From what I've read in the North America thread for that Blu-ray release of the original Mission: Impossible TV series, that appears to also have a packaging design problem, and has a possible freezing problem with one or two episodes.

Default An episode missing from the Blu-ray boxset?

Definitely remember seeing a post by a fellow member on this forum (the forum as a whole), asking about whether an episode is missing in the Blu-ray boxset release of the original Mission: Impossible television series (I subsequently asked in the North America sub-forum thread for the US Blu-ray boxset release, saying the fellow member's question was asked in this Germany sub-forum thread, and another member replied but they sounded unsure about whether an episode is missing).

Just wanted to double-check something regarding the German Blu-ray boxset of the original Mission: Impossible TV series - this isn't one of those SD on Blu-ray releases like the original Dynasty series?

No, there is none of this ⬇️ anywhere to be seen. Thankfully.

Thanks for the helpful reply. I think it would work out cheaper for me getting the German release. I can't get the Mission: Impossible boxset yet, but will do in the not too distant future. After using the current exchange rate, it seems a reasonable price for seven seasons and just over 170 episodes.

Have wanted to get for some time now the German Blu-ray boxset of the original Mission: Impossible television series (never understood why it only had a Blu-ray release in the States and Germany (only know of those releases).

Would it be a good idea to order a couple of other German Blu-ray titles with the boxset to better the chance of the boxset being packed well in a cardboard box (bearing in mind Amazon's reputation with their packaging of items)?

It had a French release as well.

I probably wouldn't add more things into the same package as this set's packaging would most likely not go well getting flung around with more obects inside the box. The cardboard holder for the digis aren't exactly the most sturdy and you'd risk creasing it.

They really should have gone with regular cases imho.

Had a senior moment, forgetting that there had been a French Blu-ray release of the original series as well.

Well, if I did decide to go and order the German release, I hope it's packed well enough to reduce the chance of damage to the boxset (bearing in mind this is Amazon).

Update: The packaging design with the German Blu-ray boxset of the original series is different to the US release (two thick plastic cases inside a card/cardboard slipcase). It sounds like you're talking about the packaging on the US Blu-ray release (the digipaks).

I agree that they should have used normal Blu-ray cases. On a separate note, I can remember when they used to post about new CBS/Paramount physical media titles on the CBS Home Entertainment Facebook page. But that page is no longer on Facebook (everything seems to be posted on the Paramount Facebook page now).

Ah, yes. Just noticed the images Sawasdee1983 linked to above of the set with the two jumbo boxes. I really hate those and try to avoid those the best I can. For instance, I lucked out and got the original complete series set of Smallville after it was reissued in those abominations.
