South Korea Korean Animation

I'd like to dig into some Korean animation, especially on blu. So far I have ordered:

Green Days
The King Of Pigs
The Fake
The Satellite Girl And Milk Cow

Anything else I should be looking into? I don't need them to be violent or gritty, but I'm not looking for stuff designed only for kids (things that are Ghibli-esque are A-ok).

I think Wonderful Days and Leafie: A Hen into the Wild are worth checking out too Pat. Perhaps some more, I'll have a think and add to it if I missed any.

There's very few, you probably named almost all. Nothing is going to top The Fake though imo

Interesting! Love Wonderful Days so I might try a few of those you mention. WD is overall best on blu-ray from korea also since it is the extended cut.

Here is how I would rank the ones I've seen.

1. Green Days
2. Leafie A Hen Into the Wild
3. The King of Pigs
4. Wonderful Days
5. The Fake
6. My Beautiful Girl Mari

I have the Korean blu rays of all except Mari. Thats only on DVD.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm eyeing wonderful days already.

I assumed Leafie was more of a kids movie, is that not the case.

I should clarify my tastes. I love Totoro, but have never seen Frozen, and rarely even go near Pixar stuff or newer Disney films.

If we're talking about series, i LOVED Winter Sonata (the animation), but I don't think it's on Bluray.
It's a soap-opera like romantic drama.
I saw the whole thing in 2 days.

It may be more of a kids film, but like Japan, Korea doesn't take kids for a bunch of pussies like American studios tend to today. It's bright and colorful, but there are some darker themes in it that may be more akin to earlier Disney works. I think it's worth checking out if you are a fan of animation.

I always liked THE BOY WHO SAW THE WIND (regardless of being very derivative of Miyazaki's material). Liked MY BEAUTIFUL GIRL MARI, but it's been a while since I've put it in the dvd player.
