Default Speaker Help Please

Could you speaker gurus look at these speakers tell me if they would go well with the Onkyo TX-SR707 or suggest better ones.

I'd rather not spend more than 400 on a pair of speakers

Here is what I have found so far and wanted to know how good they are and pros/cons of them and how well they will compliment my Onkyo TX-SR707

Surround Back Speakers http://www.amazon.com/BOSE-201-V-Ste.../dp/B00006L7RT

Front Speakers http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...aker.htmlhttp:

OR

Front Speakers http://www.overstock.com/Electronics...ci_sku=1149607

Thanks in advance

Redo The links for the front speakers . They go to the main page of the site & not to the page the speakers are on !!

next time actually mention the model & brand as well as posting working links. the only link that works is the bose and i don't recommend them unless your only wanting to do 2 channel (i think they will not be easy to pair up with a center channel for HT use) and even then i think for the money you could get better speakers.

work on the links for the other two.

I would suggest that you buy your speakers slowly over time and perhaps go out and audition speakers, find what you like, then buy the towers first, center channel second and then a sub and lastly your surrounds. However for your budget if your not willing to go the slow route and getting better quality speakers you could try any of these.

Mordaunt Short Bookshelf system comes with speaker cable and sub cable $599 They are higher end speakers, and its a really good system to start with or to keep for a good while.
http://www.accessories4less.com/make...-Cable-/1.html

Of course you could just get the speakers without the sub for $349

or
Polk Monitor 50s $200/pr with promo code $170
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-013-_-Product
Polk Monitor 30s $95 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-094-_-Product
Polk CS1 $69 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-022-_-Product

or
Fluance speakers $299
http://www.fluance.com/fluan5speaks.html

I would probably suggest them in that order too.

Check out the Primus P362

Everyone I have seen on here who owns the Infinity Primus 362s has been happy with them. I have some Infinity Beta 50s which use pretty much the same driver technology. I think they sound fantastic. Just another speaker to check out!

Stay far, far away from the Bose! Way overpriced for the performance and quality of what you get.

Smile Speakers

There are MANY, MANY good speakers on the market today, but unfortunately, Bose is NOT one of them. As emoxley stated - STAY FAR, FAR AWAY from Bose !!!!!!! They are very poor speakers ! Almost any other speaker manufacturer will do, eg. Energy, Polk, Klipsch, Infinity, Magnepan, etc. Half the fun is auditioning speakers at your local retailer !!

Yeah I thought I had heard bad things about Bose - something like no his no lows must be bose?

Anyways - btw my reciever will be 7.2 and I think it also has those height speakers as well so I guess 9.2?

I don't know anything about the SDAT, but with regards to the Sony speakers I used to own the SS-F5000s and I can tell you that Sony does not make very good speakers. I would look at the other mfg's listed for a better bunch of speakers. Sonys are boomy, lack detail and inaccurate speakers. much of the detail is covered up by the boomy 8" woofers, Mid-range detail is completely lacking.

I am not telling you not to buy them, just that for the money you were thinking of spending, there are better alternatives.

+1, I still have these in storage (I should have sold them for something by now) and callas is dead on why you should look elsewhere with that budget.

I am unclear of your budget amount...you say youd rather not spend over 400 for a pair. Does this mean total for fronts ($400), center ($200), and surrounds($400) = $1000?

I think youll get better recommendations if you are a little more specific.

I just try and find the best for the least. Actually I go on Vanns.com a lot, but I never saw that they had Jamo speakers, then I just clicked and *poof* there it was.... Magic.

Okay you should be able to get 20% off MSRP at a dealer. Also give DMC electronics and Saturday Audio a call:

PSB Image B5 = $399 MSRP
PSB Image C5 = $275 MSRP

Monitor Audio BFX = $199 at Saturday Audio

Total =$873

so you should be able to get the total down around $750
