Canada Terminator 3 Version Question

I bought Terminator 3 the other day, I read a while ago about the 1080i/1080p mix-up and thought that by buying it now that I was pretty much safe...

I looked at the back of the ox and realized it said [Copyright] 2007 Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. but the 1080p version was released in 2008, so I was initially afraid I had bought the 1080i version (all of the copies in the Best Buys and Future Shops in my area have 2007 printed on the back)

however, i learned that the 1080i UPC is 085391186304 and the 1080p UPC is 883929016938...

well, my copy has a more recent UPC: 883929017102

is it because i live in Toronto that my UPC is different (do we have a different UPC system)

any answers are appreciated!

found this thread https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=73847&page=6

and my UPC is indeed the CORRECTED version, it is just the Canadian UPC code, apparently the US and Canada have different codes, i didn't know that

im happy now!

I have the newer 1080p version with UPC 883929016938. I'm not sure why yours is different. Did you buy it as part of a combo pack or something that may have been packaged differently? Also, does it say 1080p in the video box on the back of the case at the top?

Lol, I wouldn't categorize it as the best, but it is very entertaining and I do enjoy it. It's one of those guilty pleasures. Too bad it was only released without a lossless track. The audio is still quite good for a lossy track, but I held out for a while waiting to see if they'd release it with a lossless track. Once I learned of the 1080i / 1080p issue and they didn't add a lossless track at that time, I figured hope is lost. I got it on sale for around $8. Well worth it.

The UK blu-ray has a lossless track and the same transfer, and it's region free.
