Canada Blu-ray movies

I truthfully say this on Blu-Ray, that Blu-Ray better start doing its homework when it comes to releasing movies on blu-ray. What I mean is that companies like MGM, Sony, Walt Disney, Starz, Universal, Warner Bros. and Fox better start listening to the consumers complaints and start releasing more titles on Blu-ray, mostly older films that have been out since the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. I don't have a list yet but when I do I will submit here. There are some very good titles out on blu-ray now but not enough to choose from.

Looks like you should have done your homework before starting this thread then.

There are MANY MANY MANY movies out on blu-ray to choose from, I don't understand why people like you expect EVERYTHING to be out NOW.

it's a new format and there are literally hundreds of thousands of movies. it takes time and money to get things out. The masses haven't come to blu-ray yet. you want your favorite movies? Get some friends into blu-ray. Nothing sends a message to studios like cold hard cash.

I mean that they need to come out with more 80's and 90's horror films on Blu-ray like killer klowns from outer space, the gate, 976- evil, spellcaster, I come in peace, the rest of the friday the 13th movies all of the halloween films, and the remaining films of A nightmare on elm street on Blu-ray.

I agree, why stress it, It's summer out there get outside and enjoy yourself. by the time you realized it doesn't really matter, it will make it's appearance on blue-ray and all will be bliss

Personally i think patience is key here. I know everyone wants there favourites out right away but if they are your favourite you'd already have them on dvd right? So as much as blu ray is here to stay your titles mite not see the light of day for a long time so get some good use out of those dvds while you still can

LOL! i get this ALL the time at my store. "you guys should get more blurays!"
bugs the crap outa me how ppl who pick up a bluray player think they are experts on the matter.. give me a break then you tell em about firmware and they have this confused look on their faces like your speaking another language. i'll admit thou i do wonder sometimes why it takes studio's so long to release classic films that are sure goldmines and cashcows on blu...

Armageddon
Lord of the Rings (until recently)
Star Wars
Gladiator, Braveheart, Forest Gump (until recently)
Bad Boys 1,2
Titanic

i'm sure ppl can add to this list.....but youd think these would be among the first to be re-done so as theyd be the biggest money makers. guess they may be waiting till they can get the process right before they do the big titles.. but then they take so long and finally when it does come, they still manage to go and ruin a title like gladiator!

why would they release all the big films before most people even own blu-ray players... it doesnt make sense financially. Plus, they are also waiting for tie ins with new films to also maximize profits.

Bad Boys 1 and 2 are not considered by anyone with half a brain to be classic movies. Lost in Translation; now theres a classic.

Many, including myself, would disagree with you there. However, I do agree with the Bad Boys 1/2 not being 'classics'.
