I sent my unit off on 5/14/10
for the issues of E2Prom Error HDMI port 1 had no sound and I had some sound issues I couldn't figure out. I received my receiver back Today 6/4/10 ALOT faster then I thought it would take. The sheet that came with it says, they replaced 2 HDMI sockets and 2 different ICs BUTTTTTT..... now the when I just pluged it up and was all ready to get back to the glory of my 805. IT HAS NO SOUND, soo... I start looking and exploring it more it seems it is stuck in Headphone Mode. This really sucks because my warranty ends Sunday and I don't even have the money to ship it back to NJ either. I found this thread that a guy had a similar problem... but seems he couldn't fix it either. Pisses me off I send off my unit with at least being able to listen to it, when it comes back its a 650 dollar 55 pound brick. https://forum.blu-ray.com/home-theat...5-problem.html Pretty much any ideas on what I can do till Monday when the repair center opens back up so I can call them? *Edit tomorrow, I guess ill be going to radioshack to see if I can get one of those oversized headphone adapters to plug in and out over and over to see if that fixes it. It is your headphone jack that is the problem, one end (the neutral) is touching the positive. What you have to do is simply separate the blades so that they don't touch each other that's all.
Best is to remove the top cover and you'll have access to the headphone jack where you can bend slightly one blade outward so it does not touch the other metal part. ...Very simple to do, a kid can do it. Good luck & let me know. ![]() * Sorry I did not respond to your post earlier, I was in vacation this weekend. |

I called alltech, the outsourced company that does Onkyos repairs, They are sending me out a return label.
They Said a board was cracked due to shipping, they seemed to act like this happens a good bit, at least to the point where she pretty much said ok am sending you a return label before I finished my sentence. Last edited by Cadrian; 06-07-2010 at 04:25 PM. |

if you have the headphone symbol on and no audio it is due to the fact your receiver got bumped or droped and the main motherboard has a crack in it.
alot of people have the same problem when there receivers are delivered due to the poor shipping handling and all have the same thing head phones engaged displayed. i know this very well my receiver had the same thing when i had it delivered. i did research and found out everyone that had it was due from being delivered and doa. |
