Default Some Blu-ray movies jerking but not all?

I've a htpc with Sony BWU-100A Blu-ray drive and NVIDIA 8500GT HDCP GC. All pass according to CyberLink HDAdvisor.

All my MCE Mymovies2 regular DVD movies are playing without any problems. My first few Blu-ray are excellent, btw, I can't go back to watch regular DVD anymore :-), but lately 2 of the Blu-ray I back up they both are jerking. I tried so many different things from uncheck the hardware acceleration in PowerDVD configuration to many different options in nvidia but still no luck. Any idea you guys can suggest me to try?

Much appreciated in advance!

Thanks for the feedback. When you mean didn't work, can you tell me more? My problem so far is when I play the Blu-ray contents stored in the hard drive. The strange thing is not all and is about 10 out of 2...

After many hours playing around the PowerDVD configuration screen, it seems to me it is better now I consider it is not jerking but I would call it not smooth. I think it is due to deinterlacing, hardware acceleration...

Do you guys have similar experience or some idea I can try?

Thanks in advance!

What blu-rays are they? I am wondering if they are ones that I have watched. I haven't had this problem. I use cyberlink all the time with no problems.

smiley,
I have about 10 Blu-ray in my server so far and 2 are having a "not smooth" perhaps close to jerking problem. The other 8 are fine. The two having the problem are "Are We Done Yet" and "Cruse of the Golden Flower".

Thanks

Also, do u mind share with me your PowerDVD setting?

For example, are you using nvidia GC? Is the nvidia hardware acceration tab check or uncheck in the PowerDVD configuration tab? what about the advanced tab, what check and uncheck? That really help me a bunch.

Many thanks!

I haven't watched either of them. I have are we done yet in my que at NetFlix though. I can let you know when I get that if it works. I have been watching aout 3 to 4 blu-rays a week from NetFlix. I had a problem where a couple wouldn't play I E-Mailed cyberlink and they gave me a link to a fix. OTher than that it has been great. I normally run folding@home in the background while watching blu-ray and they still run smooth. The only thing that I have had create issue is the Vista automatic updates installing updates while watching blu-rays will make it jurk a little.

Can you send me the link and let me look?

Btw, I have all Blu-ray in my Blockbuster queue and they all are from wait to very long wait status. But Blockbuster has the total Access program which I can bring my on line DVDs to the store while shipping back. Guess what? My local store has ALL those exactly from wait to long wait Blu-ray on the shelf and I borrow all the Blu-ray from the store and regular DVD on line nowadays.

No, they gave me a login and password that has expired. You could try the same thing I did although yous symptoms are differnent. The movies I had wouldn't play at all. But I went to the contact us thing on the Cyberlink Website and E-Mailed them. They seemed helpfull.

10 out of 8 huh? That's like a 125% succes rate. I would be happy with that.

Default It is high CPU Usage!!!

It is high CPU usage!

PowerDVD running 98 to 100% at all time when I playing those Blu-ray DVDs. What I don't understand is when I played other Blu-ray DVDs, they are only under 25%... Will some Blu-ray using higher usage then others? More importantly, how can I reduce the PowerDVD playing these Blu-ray DVDs under 25%?

Change your Videocard settings. From Quality to Performance. Or at least Balance. I think right now your videocard is running under what looks best or ultra good, but you can turn it down. I mean you're watching Blu Rays, not playing games, you don't need the highest videocard performance for blu rays.

I'm using a 7950 and I'm still playing around with it. The drivers are very limited for me, but in all honesty I don't even like using POwerDVD 7.3, wish I had more options.

Do we have other options to play Blu-ray in htpc beside PowerDVD? I thought it is the only one out there can do that...

That's not to supprising. What CPU do you have? I have a dual core 2.8GHZ athlon my computer typically runs about a 40 to 45% CPU load playing Blu-Rays.
