Default Sony Bravia XBR or Samsung 52"

I can't decide which tv I should get so I was hoping someone could help me out. It's a toss up between the Sony Bravia XBR 52" Model # KDL-52XBR9 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sony+-+B...=1218073533286 and a Samsung 52" MOdel LN52B750U1F http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung+...&skuId=9298413.

I read the reviews on BB and Amazon, but as far as I can tell they are both basically the same. Any thoughts?

I bought a sony 52XBR9 in August and this is the best HD tv I've ever owned. Picture is outstanding. Got it from Amazon which was about $600.00 cheaper then anyone else.

Sony and Samsung are both the top of the line when it comes to LCD tvs. Either choice would be a good one. You can usually get slightly better pricing on the Samsungs. Reliability is about the same, but Sony CS seems to have a slight edge. Where as the Samsungs, may give you just a little better black level.

Go with the one you feel is calling you so that you don't get buyers remorse.

I love my Samsung, I have had it for 2 yrs no issues at all. However, I would have been just as happy with a Sony too. Price made my decision.

To be honest I was leaning towards the Sony. I did check out Amazon but its the same exact price as BB. I live in NY so I have to pay tax either way so I was thinking of going to BB tomorrow and picking it up.

When I picked up my 52xbr9 in August Amazon had it for $1987.00, Best Buy was at $2,600+ tax, so at that time it was cheaper @ Amazon,. don't know what their at now though.

You know what, your right. I have some weird Sony complex, where most of my electronics are Sony. I probably would have been like "I should have gotten the Sony" so I pulled the trigger on the Sony. I ordered it today for pickup tomorrow.

Thanks so MUCH EVERYONE.

Both are 2009 + Tax. Seems like alot, so wifey really doesn't want me to get them. She wants me to get a less expensive Sanyo, or LG or something like that. But we have had 2 Westinghouse TV's in the last 3 years and I'm tired of "cheap" tvs so it looks like a SONY for me!!!!!

Thank you for your help. The other thing was that I'm not to sure I trusted having such a expensive TV to be handled properly through shipping, but now I don't have to worry about that. I've heard some horror stories from deliveries of TV's when researching both TV's.
