I thought I'd start a thread for members to post their positive and/or negative stories regarding both B&M and Online retailer customer service. This thread exists not only to recognize retailers who go above and beyond for their customers, but also to potentially alert members hesitant to make first time purchases from merchants who may have a history of poor service.
*Please note, per forum rules, this is not an outlet to simply bash a store, so do not come in here just to post "[store]'s employees are morons and the store is a terrible place to shop." This is a thread to share your experiences, both good and bad ![]() Last edited by Sussudio; 01-26-2010 at 04:55 AM. |

I'll start with GoHastings, who I've never ordered from before until their recent 20% off sale. I received all of my movies very promptly and in EXCELLENT condition (all of them used). Not a single scratch on any blu-ray with all discs (included digital copies, bonus dvds etc) included. When I received The Bank Job with the digital copy disc but not the copy code, I called GoHastings to see if I could simply send the movie back and possibly get another one...these were used copies of course, so the chances of getting an unused Digital Copy weren't great, but 3 others that had them came with codes and worked fine so I didn't think it would hurt to ask
![]() Anyway, I was connected with someone within a few minutes who apologized for the inconvenience and immediately decided to refund me the cost of the blu-ray (even though I simply asked if I could exchange it). I was still able to keep the blu-ray, and while I don't have the digital copy, I was very impressed with GoHastings immediate attention to my problem and willingness to solve it. Not only am I pleased with their quality and shipping, but service is exceptional and that's something hard to come by these days. Will definitely order used movies (or anything) from them again ![]() |

I want to praise Amazon for their customer service.
Many problems (such as cancellations) can be handled online without ever talking to anyone. But where Amazon really shines is their phone support. No, I'm talking about their reps who may not understand your request. But I really admire their phone contact system. Just press a link to connect to their phone service. You have the option of immediate call or delayed. When you click the link (for immediate call), your phone will start ringing instantly and you will be connected to an agent. On a few occasions, you may have to wait a few minutes, but generally you are connected immediately. None of this holding on line for minutes on end. With Amazon you're just a click away from talking to an agent. I wish more online vendors would have this kind of customer service! |
