New Best Buy HD Advantage Promo

I just want to give some information for all the blu-ray fans out there. I just rang up a customer a few hrs ago at my BB and he bought a sony 46xbr2 and the sony bdp-s300 as an open box for $429.99 (along with other home theater components). The thing is the normal promo is if you buy a tv $999 and up and a high def dvd player (hd-dvd or blu-ray) you save $100 (price comes off tv) excluding open box items. The difference is that now its $200 off and even tho his blu-ray player was open box it still took the $ off.

Now I know most of everyone on here already has a blu-ray player (ps3 or stand alone) but I just wanted to pass that info along. Coupled with the 5 free discs offer (which we tape to all our players and ps3) its a really good deal.

Im not sure if its every Best Buy though but im in north FLA.

Side note: since the price drop our ps3s have been leaving the shelves pretty quickly and we always sell out of our bluray players in all models.

Nice deal but I already ordered the Sony bdp-s300 from walmart. Good part about this deal is it's Tax free and it includes 2 free bd with the player. Plus I get 5 more as a mail offer. So 7 free BD. SWEET.

that you can pass on to someone interested in getting a new tv and a bluray player. not saying its the best in the world but bttr than it was.

Thanks for the info ADP. One thing I've often wondered about is why I've never seen a brick & mortar store have the PS3 hooked up to a good hi-def monitor and have it showing videos. This would demonstrate to the general public (actually more the public that consists of the parents of video game playing youngsters) that the PS3 is a two-for-one bargain. Last year, a main reason I bought my son a PS3 for Christmas was my selfish desire to use it some for playing hi-def movies. Of course, after a relatively short period of time I bought a 2nd PS3 solely for Blu-ray movies since I didn't like to constantly carry the original PS3 up and down the stairs. Give the parents an additional motivation for buying their kid a PS3.

Can you imagine the 2007 Christmas season for Playstation 3s? I hope Sony is ramping up production of the 80GB machines even more.
