All of the remotes in the Harmony line essentially accomplish the same things. They all control multiple devices through the use of "Activities" and are simple to program by using their software and online database.

What you pay extra money for are bells and whistles... like a color touch screen, RF capability, etc. However, my $70 550 controls my devices in the exact same way as my buddies $200 Harmony One. Just depends on how much $ you have to spend and how fancy you want to get.

i have an 880 and an 1100.

yes they both control the "stuff" pretty much the same. while on IR...when i setup a button for a channel say 180. with IR...sometimes i would get 1...0. and i get channel 10...instead of 180. and this is with line of sight.

1100 is just a lot more advanced. i guess if you have greasy fingers then the screen will get dirty. but it can be cleaned easy enough. RF with the 1100 is the only way to go for me. i'm never going back to IR.

Default question about the 550 and uverse

i'm sure the other harmony remotes are pretty similar to the 550. my issue is regarding the att u-verse and the inability to go back on the menu/guide. i want to add the command to the remote while it is in the "watch tv activity", as opposed to having to switch to the "u-verse device". thanks in advance for any help.

you can add function buttons to any harmony remote during any activity. Super easy to setup on any remote
