Default Any chance Universal will remaster old BD catalog titles like "Darkman"?

"Darkman", "Waterworld" and the list goes on.
They need a better video transfer. Any chance?

Always possible. But I would not think that likely at least for Waterworld.

i would imagine when 4k comes around. they'll have to. no amount of edge enhancement and dnr is going to perceptibly convert 1k to 4k. i'm sure they'll give it a go though

as for blu-ray, i can't see them doing this. they've made it very clear they don't want to spend cash on catalog titles. i think we're stuck with what we've got. there might be the odd exception here and there. but generally, these films have had their chance.

If they can't even do it right the first time then why would they go back and do it again?

The master was fine for both of these. It was the digital manipulation from Universal (per usual) that killed both of these transfers.
