Default 20/20 foresight? (Not buying SD from here on)

I am not going to buy any more new DVD's because hopefully by early next year or by the end of this year I will likely have a PS3 primarly for watching movies, are you reading this Toshiba/Warner . There is no way that I can look at it as being fiscally responsible of me to buy a DVD and then buy the same movie on Blu Ray even a year down the road. I loved Transformers when I saw it in the theaters I want it as soon as possible on home video but even if I rent it 5 times (punch card $2.75) that is still only around $ 12 for hours of entertainment. My parents don't see why I would buy a Blu Ray player before the format war is over. They have not said as much but living with them for 23 years I know what they are thinking. Even if they do think this I do believe they were the ones who bought into the Sony format BETA. What was it Snake said " Oh no, BETA" As my Dad says " Prior, planning, prevents, pi__, poor, performance" duly noted.
