Default HMDI cable

I connected my HMDI cable to my PS3 and HMDI is connected to HD TV (HMDI 1) it shows 1080p on PS3 screen but when I insert a game in PS3 while it's loading it's says: 16:9 WIDE 720p why? it should say 1080p right? not 720p.

EDIT: it's shows 1080p when I watch The Dark Knight on blu-ray.

Can someone help? I didn't know where to put this so if wrong place mods can remove it to right place.

Games are usually native 720p, so in my opinion... changing it to display at 1080p doesn't make a difference.

It's "HDMI" bud.

What game is it. Not all games are 1080p I think there's only a few of them. Alot of them are 720p/1080i. Look on the back of the Case it will tell you what the Video is.

HDMI doesn't mean you get 1080p for everything.

I don't own that game but I'm pretty sure it's only native 720p. Look on the back of the case.

Also if it does say 1080i/p and your having trouble then you might have to go into the Settings-Display Settings-Video Output Settings-HDMI-Custom or Automatic and make sure the 1080i/p are also selected.

Done what you said, my video settings show 1080p and I checked the case it's 720p. I guess there's no problems.
