Personally I loved the film. I purchased it after loving it at a festival screening. I paid $20 when it came out and have watched twice on blu-ray. In my opinion, it is worth the $10 blind buy.

I picked it up this week at Best Buy, for $20 off the MSRP and all the decent reviews for me it was a no brainer. Saw a few clips and it looks like a strong movie. I say go for it, not a huge investment.

I blind bought it on borders.com for like $4.50 along with Blazin' Saddles. After shipping it came out to $15.00 total.

I'm pretty sure the title of this thread is, "Is Mongol a good blind buy?" and not, "Did you get a sweet deal on Mongol?"

To the OP, yes I think it is a great blind buy. I blind bought it myself a few weeks ago and loved it.

It's a good movie but I wouldn't buy it.

I only buy movies I know I will watch again. IMO only people who like almost everything they've ever seen should blind buy. I saw Mongol (via Netflix) and didn't especially care for it. There was a lot of squandered potential. I'm glad I saw it, but I wouldn't watch it again, even is someone gave it to me. So I guess I'm saying IMO it's not a good blind buy.

Think hes saying that your deal is irrelevant to this thread. The question is 'Should I Buy Mongol' not 'I got a good deal on Mongol'

I didn't even want to finish watching the rental and I didn't. Of course, YMMV.

Sure itīs a good blind buy!
If you are into asian movies and interested in the story of Genghis Khan!
But if you a mainstreamer and Michael Bay worshipper you will not be happy with this movie!
Weird thread by the way...i think every man has to decide by himself what to buy and not ask others.

I think my point was pretty self evident. But if you require me to spell it out for you, I will.

When someone asks if a movie is a good blind buy, the only way to meaningfully add to the post is to give your opinion as to if it is or isn't a good blind buy. On the other hand, letting them know what a sweet deal you got doesn't really help them determine if it is a good blind buy.

I'll give you an example of why your answer was utterly ridiculous, see if you can keep up.

Q: "Is a 60" Samsung LCD TV a good TV to buy?"
A: "I got one for $299.99 the day after Thanksgiving!!"
