Default Anyone have/tried a wireless charging pad for cell phones?

I've seen the Powermat and Duracell Mygrid versions in a couple stores lately and was wondering if they actually work?

I have heard some talk about them, but they mostly look like a solution to a problem that didn't need solving. It would be interesting to hear firsthand experiences from users though.

I think the Powermat is pretty cool and I'd want it but it's way too expensive. $100 for the actual mat, and then another $25-$40 for the cases for each component is ludicrous for something that only slightly lessens an inconvenience. In addition with how often I change cell phones I'd end up needing to buy a new case for each phone around every year.

The Duracell one is less expensive, but are these charger pads a viable alternative to just wall mounted chargers-or just a novelty?

If I needed it for multiple devices, it might be nice to try out but I have a plug in my car/home/work for my phone so eh, not going to give it a shot right now.

i have an energizer 'pad' for my sons wii controllers.
i must say it works great.

the controllers come with their own batteries that can be recharged wireless.

if they offered one of these wireless mats for my laptop, ps3 controller, 360 controllers etc i would buy them.

the convenience is unmatched.

i only paid $29.99 for the wii charger @ walmart about a week before xmas.

plus the energizer charger shuts off the charging when the battery is full and they recommend that you leave tyhe controllers on the pad.
charging = light above the controllers (on mat) is red. when charging is complete the light turns green

Interesting. I didn't know they made one specifically for the Wii, and that's the controllers I have the most problems with in regard to batteries. I might look into this one. Thanks for posting.
