Roman Porno 1971-2016: Une Histoire érotique du Japon

Elephant Films will release Roman Porno 1971-2016: Une Histoire érotique du Japon, a series of ten Nikkatsu Roman Porno films as a box set in France on 17 December 2019.

Please note that these are not English-friendly releases, with only Japanese and French support.

The ten films will also be released individually on the same date:



Five are from the original run of theatrical films:

I actually have the Japanese blu ray of "Angel Guts: Red Porno". While I love the film, especially the cinematography, the blu ray itself is kind of mediocre. It's 1080i and has some minor banding issues towards the end. Also, there were a couple of moments of optical censorship, although that can't be helped. I'll probably upgrade to the French blu ray.

It looks like Amazon.fr may not have gotten their stock on time, because my copy is not moving and the listing now says "Usually ships in 1-2 months". However, the last item I pre-ordered from a European Amazon with the cheapest shipping (in this case, Amazon.it) took several days to ship out even though I had pre-ordered it weeks before almost as soon as it was available on the site, so perhaps this is a consequence of AmazonGlobal Standard shipping.

In any event, the release does exist. Here is an image posted by Elephant Films on Facebook:
