The new PowerDVD Ultra Mark II patch enable Bitstreaming of DTS HD and TrueHD on GTX 460 (and 450 i suppose) (at last) and also enable HDMI 1.4 3D. So if you have a HTPC plugged into a 3D TV and have a Bluray reader or writer, you can now use you're HTPC...

Looks like one needs to purchase a GTX 460 if they want HDMI 1.4 with Blu-ray 3-D on their 3-D TV (Does not support 3-D cable or 3-D satellite signals). I have no plans on using a 3-D external TV in the near future.
Download PDF Spec Sheet The GTX 450 is better since it has HDMI 1.4a which is ideal for passing all the 3-D broadcast formats. So the best card to get for owners of 3-D TV's is the GTX 450 since it is the only card that will pass all the 3-D formats from Blu-ray, cable, and satellite as long as one purchases a computer tuner that supports 3-D. No 3-D computer tuners on the market yet. Download PDF Spec Sheet I should be able to get 3-D to work on the GTX 470 as long as I use a desktop 3-D computer monitor over a DVI connection. The more expensive GTX 470 only has HDMI 1.3a. One of the latest PC builds I did for a family member has the EVGA GeForce GTX 470 installed with the latest version of PowerDVD 10 Ultra 3D. I went with the GTX 470 since the person using the PC was not interested in using the PC with a external 3-D display. The GTX 470 is a better card as long as one does not need to hook up a 3-D display. The card has two DVI outputs and a HDMI output. The specs for the card mentions that it uses a mini 1.3a HDMI connection so I cannot use that with a external 3-D TV since I need HDMI 1.4 or HDMI 1.4a. Download PDF Spec Sheet Since currently no 3-D displays can produce as good as picture quality in 2-D mode when compared to the discontinued 2008 Pioneer 9th generation plasma my family members have no plans on replacing their displays. When and if 3-D displays start offering a 2-D picture that is better then the Pionneer and if companies also start offfering 3-D sets that bypass the 3:2 pulldown process in 3-D mode then I will start getting more interested in 3-D (Plus I need a min of a 100 3-D movies on the market to justify a new display). Maybe sometime in the future I will purchase a desktop 3-D computer monitor with some 3-D glasses and try some 3-D Blu-ray movies. Might be a project for next year since I am really busy.
