Default I FINALLY get a PSP tomorrow!

I've had a few times over the past few years where I was thisclose to getting a psp and then things fell apart for one reason or another.

Now I've struck a deal with a friend of mine for his psp3000.

I have a few questions though:

1. How much hard drive space is on it? IF I download games from the online store, such as LBP or GOW or even Savage Moon, how fast does the HD fill up on that?

I realize it's got a memory stick or something, but not sure how that works.

2. I saw some blurb in a review about Skype. Does Skype work with this? That'd be cool.

3. How easy is it to set up my PSN account on it?

Memory sticks are memory you buy in stores. When one fills up, you can get another one and put that stick inside the PSP. Depending on the size will depend on how fast it fills up. Most games usually are like 200MBs to a little over 1GB if you download them from the PSN Store. Some UMD games also include an install feature, so that can take up memory too if you decide to do the install which basically makes the loading a little faster when playing the game.

I use my PS3 PSN account for my PSP.

PSP does have Skype, but just doesn't work on the original model PSPs like the one I have.

Groo, these three PSP remakes alone are worth the price of admission:

1) Lunar: Silver Star Story (out already)
2) Tactics Ogre (out next week)
3) Final Fantasy IV (out in a month or two)

Also, there's Persona 3 FES for PSP, but that's sort of a downgrade. Still very nice to have though.

PSN account on PSP is super easy. Also I find the best use i've gotten from my PSP has been since I signed up for PS+. There are a LOT of minis released all the time and most of them are great fun!

PSN on the PSP is super easy. Congrats on the PSP though! I use mine when I travel, it's the best handheld around imo.

I'm real tempted to upgrade mine when the new NGP comes out. Dual analog sticks is going to be awesome. Only question is, what to do with all my UMDs?

I read that Sony wants to make it so that people with a lot of games can just download those games to the ngp. They want to work something out with the makers of the psp games. It didn't say if it might cost anything or not for people that get the ngp. I do hope it works out.

So I got the PSP (not sure what model, but it's silver so ...lol).

Problem is that I don't have a memory stick and I have to update the firmware. Don't know what version I have now.

Can I connect the PSP to the PC with a USB cable (ps3 controller cable perhaps?) and update it that way?

Very frustrated right now. Why can't they just let me update it the way it already is set up to do?

I wouldn't get my hopes up for that. Sony said the same thing before the psp go came out and it never happened. Also, there are so many games that aren't on psn to download unfortunately.

Nope. You can update by using the system update with a memory stick, or updating off of the game updates found on UMDs though. >.>

Most people have a memory stick. In fact if you were to buy it new, it would have come with a memory stick big enough to hold the system updates.

I don't suppose anyone would like to help me out here.

I have a game that I have zero interest in (SWAT: Target Liberty) and I need a memory stick. I am willing to trade straight up for a memory stick (would prefer at least a 4 gig, but can't be picky at this point).

Anyone out there have an extra memory stick?

nah there wasn't. There was NOTHING on it. 5.03 or something was the firmware. I updated it and then connected to my account and downloaded the minis that I had, plus some demos for GOW games

Depends on how big of an sd card you get.

I don't think so, but it may.

I just share the account with my ps3 psn account. Just connect to networke type in e-mail and password and go.

Congrats on the psp, I love mine. The god of war games, papaton, loco roco, monster hunter, final fantasy dissidia, Kingdom Hearts games are all awesome.
