Default About to buy Samsung BD-P1200 w/ no Samsung TV

Hi Folks,

I'm about to make my first BD Player purchase (been researching here, thank you for all the great info). I read some limitations mentioned when not running on a Samsung HDTV (I have a SONY).

Has anyone experienced these? Should I just go for it? I'm pumped.

he's talking about their proprietary "control all the devices with one remote" thingy

It's no big deal

I have the BD-P1200 hooked up to a Sony TV, check my sig, and it works great.

Don't worry about it, it'll still work fine.

Thumbs up Bd-p1200

I bought my Samsung BD-P1200 back in March and it is playing very well. I have the BD-P1200 connected to a Mitsubishi 57 inch DLP HDTV. Both the Blu-Ray player and tv process 1080P. Believe me, you can see the difference with a 1080P display. Apocalypto was made for Blu-Ray! The picture almost seems to be 3-D, especially when Janguar Paw is running for his life in the jungle. The Samsung picture is outstanding. I am very satified with both my tv (last Nov) and my BD-P1200. I am slowing building up my Blu-Ray collection, I now have 10 BD films (just got "300" and "Shooter" today). The BD-P1200 also goes a super job at upconverting standard DVDs. I have hosted a couple of Blu-Ray lunches over the past month. I bring about 4-5 people over during our lunch hour and as my company eats, I pop in a few BD films to show them how fantastic the 1080P display looks. You will be very happy with the Samsung BD-P1200.

Welcome to the forums friend!
I love my Sony 46" Bravia LCD. It is the most beautiful thing in my house! Well, besides my wife :P.
I wouldn't worry about it, I have heard no real complaints about it.
Welcome to the Blu-side.
