Default HDTV to Reciever issue need help please and thanks.

Ok I'll be brief, I know we need a new receiver but it's not on the top of my priorities list right now so I am stuck with what I have. What I have is a 30 year old Panasonic receiver, it's pretty good pumps out some awesome sound has monster ass speakers and has a really kick ass EQ and other features. Problem is it only has analog inputs obviously.

Our old TV we just replaced had analog audio outputs from the back of the TV, but this new one, it's a Philips 42" LCD just got it last week, it only has the Digital Coaxial audio outputs and so my question is, is there a cheap, converter or box or switch or Y-cable or something that can go from that output to an old style RCA input? I am talking about the single RCA type cable that is orange and is labeled SPDIF or something like that. If I use an RCA Y Cable it gets sound but it also gets a lot of noise too. Eventually I plan on getting a new receiver but not for a long while. I had a better one that had the digital inputs a while back but sold it when money got tight.

So to rephrase or simplify the question, I have Digital audio out on the TV and analog audio in on the stereo and need to connect the two, what are my low cost under $30 options?
