Default Which power conditioner?

I posted in the "Vote yes for power..." thread and only received one response (thanks Zippo), but would like more opinions, so I am going to repost here.

I am a noob when it comes to power conditioners. I need some help in determining which one to buy, so I thought I would ask hose who know. The dorks at BB Mangnolia were utterly useless . I am looking at 4.

Panamax 4300
Panamax 5100
Panamax 5300
APC H15

Here is my equipment list.
2 Carver M1.0 amps bridged to 1000 watts
2 Klipsch KSW-200 200 watt subs
Yamaha RX-V663
Pioneer BDP-05FD Blu-ray
Pioneer DV-414 DVD player
Samsung 40" 750 LCD
XBOX 360

I don't seem to need power sequencing as I turn on all componenets by hand, one at a time.
Thoughts, comments? Any help is appreciated.

Most subs and amps should not be put on a power conditioner since they typically have built-in protection. You will want to consult your owners manual or contact the company to confirm.

With that said, any of the four that you list should be fine. I personally use, Tripp Lite products, but the Panamax and APC are also pretty good. I believe, however, the Panamax gets a little better ratings over the APC.

No problem. I still think your best bet would be the APC H15. It has a higher surge rating( 5270 Joules ) than the others. It weighs more & has a better build quality too. It also has automatic voltage regulation, which the Panamax units lack( except for the 5400 & 7500 ). You can get it for $250 here: http://www.amazon.com/APC-H15BLK-1-5.../dp/B000FBF08Q . No matter which unit you choose, I wouldn't recommend running your Carver amps thru it( might restrict their performance ).

I picked up a new silver APC H15 over a year ago for $99( silver color was being discontinued ), no regrets. I use a Panamax M5400-PM in my bedroom system & a Furman Elite-20 PF i in my living room system. If either of them ever needs replacing, APC products will get first look.

Panamax 4300

Power conditioners like the panamax have dedicated high current outlets for subs and receivers.

So have my Monster and Tripp Lite, but I would still follow the manufacturers recommendation and plug them directly to a wall outlet versus a power conditioner.

And I agree with ZIPPO, the APC would probably be your best bet with the Joule rating. I did not compare all your models.

Just be forewarned....I love the APC's quality and functionality but the damn relay clicking in and out (and a fairly noisy fan when on temp battery mode) drove me nuts. Today, I swapped my APC out with another unit. Let's see if it's any better.

Well, there's about couple million people happy with that exact unit model #;

I never said it was a bad unit, it worked very well for me, just the relay click was getting annoying. I resell APC products so I'm very happy with their stuff on the IT side. Also, they had that mega sale on these last year which helps get one into everyone's hand.

Anyhoo, they sell lots of Camrys too and there are lots of happy owners but I wouldn't want to own one.

On that note, I am pretty sure it's a placebo effect but I thought the BD images were smoother, richer, and more vibrant with the RGPC device. Weird. The missus mentioned it without me prompting too. But theoretically, it doesn't make sense how can better voltage makes 1's and 0's look better. Veeeirdd....

I say APC....

Speaking of power conditioners, I picked up a Monster Signature HTPS7000 today and the 3 GFI outlets in the back aren't working. The other outlets are fine. Anyone have any ideas ?

I agree with Zippo, i have the APC J15 with battery back up and i love it. The build qaulity, features and performance is hard to beat at its price point, plus it is rack mountable and it looks fantastic!

Not that anyone was answering it, but I brought it back and upgraded to something else. But thanks for the overwhelming replies
