Sony bdp s470 no signal

Hi all,

I just received my Sony player, hooked the hdmi cable, was stoked to see the Sony screen because the last time I tried to use hdmi it didn't work. Then the signal disappears and the screen goes blank. When I disconnect the cable from the player I get a screen flicker but generally jiggling the cable does nothing.

I set it up with the red yellow whites and it plays like a champ.

My money is on a bad hdmi, but macruz isn't sure.

Thoughts? Advice? All is really appreciated!
