Default Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles Forever

So what are the chances of the 25th Anniversary TMNT film being released on blu ray? They released it on DVD, BUT it's not widescreen like the movie was made in. 16x9 Widescreen HD release for the movie? I hope so!!

If you all want it released on blu, send them a quick email.

He's talking about the recent animated feature that brought together the three eras of Turtles.

And I don't see them releasing the film on BLU-Ray. Especially with the recent changing of hands.

We're lucky it got released on DVD at all frankly. Shame it wasn't the extended cut in WS.

Nickelodeon hasn't released any blu-rays yet, and considering the DVD release was a piss-poor showing as far as being barebones, non-anamorphic, and only including the edited broadcast version, we won't see Turtles Forever on BD anytime soon. They even further edited it for it's airing today by removing the part with Eastman and Laird at the end. It's pretty clear Nick doesn't give a crap about their recent acquisition and won't give previous works their due. They'll probably treat their planned CG 2012 TMNT series great though. Nick did recently consider a blu-ray release of the Avatar cartoon to tie in with the movie though, but they bailed on that for collector's edition DVDs.

Just watched this. This movie definately deservers a blu ray release. The DVD is missing 7 minutes of extra footage... and isn't even in its original aspect ratio. Come on Nickelodeon.... take a chance, release it properly, and in HD!!!

Movie was just simply awesome. Seeing the old 80's turtles and the original B&W turtles was cool.

The full movie is about 79 minutes and this was available to watch for free on the 4Kids website up until recently. 4Kids also made a version for broadcast edited to allow for commercials in a roughly 73 minute length. Now that Nick is officially the owner they for whatever reason put the broadcast version on DVD in it's non-anamorphic broadcast ratio. And they were made fully aware of the full version. Those few minutes may not seem like a lot of time but they really do add to the movie and fill in a couple plot holes.

I love the movie too, was fun seeing the turtles from different eras interacting and working together, not sure an HD upgrade is in order though.

Man so the DVD is the 73 minute version? I saw it at Wal Mart and was debating getting it or not remembering this thread.

The upcoming blu-ray release of The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie has an HD preview of this. Let's hope that means that this is finally getting a worthy release, on blu-ray no less.
