Default Digital Downloads question and thought?

OK I know we all for the most part believe that downloading a movie is a waist of time, becasue we all love to have that Blu disc in our hands I too am one of them.

HOWEVER, I personaly have found a new reason to somewhat have an apprecietion for digital downloads. Not to own permantly but to see if I want to own a certain title. I don't feel that it's wortht time (gas, rental prices, and just being lazy) to run out and rent a cetain title thats either been out for a few years or been out for a few weeks. Now granted, the download isn't the greatest quality, but it does gice you a good idea on how good or bad a certain title is.

SOOO.... my questino is this, for those that do the digital downloading for movie, or even for those that don't. Do you use this optino to determine if you want to own a title or not. OR do you think it's a waist regardless.

I personally find it to be benefical to se if there is a title I want to own, once I own it I delete the movie. whats your thoughts on this topic.

I prefer rental and streaming. Haven't tried DD's yet.

The problem with this situation is that large demographics of lazy will help the industry start making a transition to ONLY digital download content. If everyone started doing this, then studios would get reports about how more films are being downloaded than sold/rented. Therefore, they will think that that will be the business plan focus from then on.

What people don't realize is that the more they download instead of renting or buying a physical copy, the less physical copies will be an option for them in the future. Perhaps they would even go to the stage where they will start releasing titles as a digital download first to see how well it does. Then, after those numbers are looked at, the attention given that title for physical release later on will apply according to the download numbers.

This would throw the quality vs. quantity ratio completely out of balance on Blu-ray releases.

I SAY TO HELL WITH DIGITAL DOWNLOADS!!! THEY WILL NEVER OFFER THE EXPERIENCE THAT I WANT FROM MY HOME ENTERTAINMENT!!!
