Default Its tax season!!!

like the title says, its tax season! as anyone received or is expecting to get back more than usual? if so, have you or will you treat your system to an unexpected upgrade??? reason i ask is because everytime around this year my wife and i pick one thing/room inside or out to remodel...2 years ago it was a new front porch, last year was a new downstairs bathroom, and this year is an all new master bedroom bathroom...also just about every one of my family members or friends do the same. im aware ones ht is exactly top priority, but if its more then expected, why not???

now im not bragging, i swear, but i got back ALOT more than usual. its more like blood money, but thats more the reason for me to get what makes me happy! in the begining of 2009 i was in a very bad accident at work, so i was out for the entire year, it was hell in and out of dr offices, back specialist, back surgeons, physical therapy, 2 surgeries already...So anyway how my job works is, i get taxed through the year like everyone else just as if i were working. Then come tax time you get back most of all the taxes you payed in the year, it comes out to about an 80% refund. i would much rather have my back the way it was, but thats not happening! so why not upgrade and have the room that i pretty much live in, the way i want it???

So anyway, with my huger than expected return, i added a few upgrades to my ht. i added a sony bdp-cx690 400 disc changer, a new paradigm se 10" sub to the rear left corner, new rear surround paradigm adp-470 speakers, and best of all! i payed off my enormous credit card bill from going overboard on blurays!(also was able to add a few more to my list and 400 disc changer)

is their anybody else who now has or will have any unexpected upgrades???even if its a few mor blurays, your ht expierence will be better...

I got my tax money and made an impromptu trip to best buy. Ended up spending over $600 lol. I bought a Denon AVR590, a Polk CS10 to match my monitor 40's, some speaker wire, new hdmi's and all that good stuff. I'm hoping to hook it all up today, but i realized that my TV stand is smaller than it looks and the speaker nor reciever will fit. where oh where should i put them This is my first time hearing the lossless codecs, so im excited

We did our taxes last night and we are getting back $6,600. Unfortunately it is all going to payoff debts and insurance. Oh well, at least it is going to better causes I guess. But I could have done some serious upgrading with just 1/2 of that.

I've been saying that for the last 6 years...which is coincidentally how long I have been married......

We did get the extra deduction this year (my son), so that helped for sure!

Why yes...it is tax season...and I work for a CPA...so this time of year is SO fun for me.

My refund is pretty big because we got the first time home buyer credit, however the whole refund is going towards getting rid of some debt I've accrued over the last 5 years.

For those unaware or who don't use a tax preparer or tax software, be sure to file Schedule M this year in order to get your share of the "free Obama money" out there. Subject to income restrictions, of course, you will get an extra $400 filing individual and $800 filing jointly. If you don't file, you will NOT get this refund/credit/hand-out. My understanding, anyway.

This is correct, we got the "extra" $800 on our taxes done last night. We knew nothing about it, but our accoutant did and included it.

Getting back almost 11k. New Home credit... : ) Paying off a car, a snow mobile, credit cards. Then buying a new hunting rifle, and a deep freezer. Rest is going towards the mortgage principal...

Got my state, still waiting on federal. But I did pickup a projector and screen setup, hoping to get that setup soon. Also put a down-payment on a vacation for August.

I was going to owe around $100 but ended up getting $700 back, the payroll department withheld way too much from my relocation check, roughly 30% to for federal.

I bought around 40 blus. I'm looking forward to my bonus in March. (Smaller than usual due to the economy but still a fat check I'm hoping!)
