Supposedly, catalog releases (even when they are new to Blu-ray) are not affected in any way by the recent Warner/Netflix deal. I don't expect them to have more copies of that either. However, it is worth looking into.
This week, WB/NL has Fame (1980) out. For those of you that are Netflix subscribers, what wait times are you seeing? Last edited by Grubert; 01-25-2010 at 12:03 PM. |

Never mind "Public Enemies", I still haven't gotten Disney's "Santa Buddies".
![]() (And "Hurt Locker" likely won't be till Valentine's Day at the earliest.) For all of Netflix's other benefits, I take it for granted that I'm going to be waiting a month for 8 out of 10 New Release Blu titles anyway; Warner "threatening" us with a three-week wait is more a case of "Tell us something we freakin' DON'T know..." ![]() |

Sorry but not everyone can get there movies out on saturdays. Regardless Netflix's practices favor those that are new and those that rent less.

My routine is to get new releases the day they're released (Tuesday) or the day before (Monday) watch them on Tuesday or Wednesday night, they get them Thursday or Friday. And repeat.
I've never even once had to wait for a Blu-Ray on netflix and I've been a member for around a year. |

No one in their right mind is going to have a title they wish to rent through the Netflix service they already pay for, and go "Crap! If I have to wait three weeks, I'm going to instead go out and spend $20+, more than my monthly total Netflix fee, to buy this movie that I only cared about enough to rent in the first place because I can't wait 21 days to rent it". It's just been bad PR for WB, bad PR for Netflix (that they didn't fight it out in court and instead bowed down), though to most of us it's not going to put much of a damper in our renting. Big deal, I wait 4-6 months for a movie to come out anyway for home viewing, what's another couple of weeks. |
