United Kingdom Uk - Alien vs. Predator Box

haven't found a thread for this release. So i started this new one.
Anybody got the Uk release of the Alien vs. Predator box?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Alien-Vs-Pre...=3161RCPVQQ9WY

Is it a normal Amaray or any sort of Box? I would prefer these cover over the other european one and really would appreciate infos or Pics of this release. Thanks.

I ordered the one you show from amazon but received one with a different cover.. that was in April 2009 though.

Amaray with a slightly embossed slipcase:

That's the one i have as well, i don't think the other Artwork is from the UK. Amazon might have it wrong there

Its a Single Amaray box with the 2 Discs inside, came with slipcover originally, as pictured above

If you trust the box on this sort of issue, both the slipcover and amaray show region B

I would imagine so. The slipcover contains information about what is on the discs whereas the actual case just includes the credits for each film.

cheers Blu. Its at a good price at the moment, I can finally get a B release and do away with my A so I don't have to use my laptop to watch them lol.

*edit!

hmmm, dvdcompare.net says the AVP2 isnt the 'unrated' cut though...http://dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=12840#3

Yeah, they are at a good price at the moment. I have seen them a lot higher. Not too bad discs for the price either

You'd be better off just getting AVP and not getting AVPR since AVPR was complete and utter balls.

AVP wasn't exactly cinema gold either. But both were 'entertaining'.

That's the US cover. For some reason Amazon UK has always had that one shown. I'd be really surprised if it still doesn't have the slipcover as demiscy posted. One thing Fox are good for in the UK is packaging. Every double pack or compilation I've come across has solid artwork and is either housed in a slipcase or box.

I picked up the Predator 1 & 2 double pack from CDWow back in December for $20AU and it's housed in an embossed slipcover in a similar fashion (my scans of the artwork are here on this site's listing).

The only annoying thing about Fox worldwide in general is their tendency to region lock titles.

KaiGusto, I can confirm that the AU version of this double pack contains the theatrical and extended version of AVP but just the theatrical for AVP-R. Still, I don't have a problem with that and for the price I got it I'm happy. I suspect that the specs for the UK version would be identical to the AU version, meaning MPEG2 for AVP, AVC for AVP-R and DTS-HD MA 5.1 for both on the audio front. I personally found AVP's PQ quite reasonable, especially for MPEG2. AVP-R is much better, however a lot of the film is in the dark so it's less of an issue in terms of detail but it does handle it well and not create a noisy transfer. Both have solid audio.

I was sure the amazon listing had the slipcover artwork last time I viewed it.. must be mistaken.

Cheers atexp80 for those details regarding the pack. I think I might just stick with my US double pack for a little while longer now I guess.

I know what you mean about AVPR and how dark it is, its pretty annoying really.

Less than £12 on amazon UK at the moment. Surely that's a good price!

Yeah, it saw stupid dark. Watch the movie, then watch the trailer on the disc - the trailer looks so much better than the movie
