Looking forward to adding this to the collection. I was fortunate enough to get an original 1-sheet "Pete's Dragon" poster in mint condition for less than $20 a few weeks back.

Damn, I hope Disney isn't waiting for the Golden Anniversary of Mary Poppins in 2014. That and Who Framed Roger Rabbit are the two I absolutely need to have on Blu-ray.

With that said, I really enjoyed Pete's Dragon when I was a kid and would pick it when it comes out.

Here's the page for it on Disney's site, with cover art - just like the high Flying DVD edition.

Walmart also lists the movie with a runtime of 88 minutes, which is 40 minutes less than the correct runtime of 128 minutes. You know that has to be wrong. I will go with Disney's October 2nd date on this one, and I am quite sure it will be 128 minutes.

Disney *did* release a shorter version of the film, and it has aired occasionally on television, but I agree, there's no way they'd release the trimmed version. Everyone knows the longer cut.

So no lossless audio? And the site also lists the 88 minute runtime. Hmm...

Love the movie, but I will be fine hanging on to my DVD copy, which hosts the same slipcover artwork. Am happy enough with it.
