Default Did Sears eff up?

actually K-mart did as well. I think.

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...0070921x00003a

http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_1...0070926x00003a

Found this Adcom Amp on the Sears and Kmart website for $850. Though it says 2 Channel / 200 watts per channel it lists the model as the GFA-7705 which is a 5 channel / 200 watts per.

Amazon has it listed for almost twice that.

Good deal maybe? Or am I missing something.

Who knows? Given the huge price difference and discrepancy in the description, if this is something you're possibly interested in I suggest you go to a physical store to see one in person so you know exactly what you'd be getting.

Too bad I'm in Japan or else I'd probably scope it out. Just wanted to post it for others. I kind of think the product would reflect the model number posted though.

Do you think they are B-stock or refurbs?

I doubt it. Even if it were a refurb, it's still a good price. Being a big name company such as Sears, don't you think they would honor their product. If one is purchased and the model is clearly listed on the order and you get something different. I think they would have to accept a return and full refund or give some kind of credit.

That STR-5300 has a nice set of Pre-outs on the back. I'm sure those Def Techs would like the extra juice

Actually called Sears to confirm it and the guy I spoke with stated it is in fact the 5 channel amp but didn't have a good reason why the price was so low. Anyone else want to call and see what kind of answer they get?

I ordered a Emotiva XPA-5( $699 ) over the holidays. It's backordered until Feb. 10th, but I should receive it by the end of Feb..

I live a couple miles from Sears. I'll swing by tomorrow & check. This would be my only concern: Please note: This amplifier is supplied with a 20 amp AC plug and requires a dedicated 20 amp 120V AC circuit with a 20 amp 120V receptacle. Note that the plug and required receptacle are not the same as the standard 15 amp plug and receptacle found on most electric products and household outlets. We suggest you consult an electrician if you are uncertain about the capacity of your electrical circuit and the required receptacle.

I just found this thread today and the Sears website still has the same info on it. I'll have to check out my local Sears this week to see whats up.
