I think this film would look amazing on blu-ray!

I watched this on TCM a few years ago and greatly enjoyed it. Now I'm waiting for a Blu-ray to be released. Same with a ton of other titles from WB from this era.

I found it a bit uneven. It's a good film though and Douglas and Quinn are excellent. I'd probably grab it on Blu-ray.

. . . one of those I truly crave to see on BD, and I fervently hope they'll throw in the so-called promo film Vincent Van Gogh: Light Into Darkness in the package.

Although the idea of an American actor playing Vincent Van Gogh would be abhorrent for some - like my wife for example - I will buy this when it comes out on Blu-ray. I think it does more jutice to Van Gogh the artist than Pialat's 1991 film which focussed on his deterirating personality toward the end of his life.

This is such a great movie, Kirk Douglas's performance is amazing.

Maybe this will be released for the 60th Anniversary in 2016 with a proper restoration and extras but hopefully it gets a barebones before that.
