How to turn on 2.1 stereo on Marantz?

Hey,

Do you guys know how can I enable the subwoofer in 2-channel music on my Marantz SR5004? I don't have it hooked up to a TV yet. I'm just listening to music from CDs and my computer.

Did your receiver come with a manual? For onkyos it's multichannel, I don't know off the top of my head for Marantz.

I know the Dolby digital encoding can go any way it can hmm 2.1 I think I only have 1 film on DVD on its menu titles The Thing that has music playing in 2.1.

I think you have to read though the owners manual.

Now unless your thinking of downmix Dolby 5.1 to stereo where mine can but its only stereo fronts with stereo surrounds folded onto the left and right in stereo or monaural depending on the mix.

The centre is folded on left and right along with LFE.1 at equal level.

If so you should have two buttons on the front an A and B. Press A will downmix.

I click the stereo button on my receiver (Onkyo 805) and I have sound out of my 2 mains and my subwoofer. I thought that was standard with all receivers as long as you had the equipment hooked up?

I do the same with my Onkyo 606, and I get sound from 2 front speakers, and sub, works great.
