Just wondering how you connect the amp to the receiver? no inputs or outputs? (this might be a really dumb question lol)

Not possible without pre-outs

Future proof your next receiver purchase by getting one with multi-channel inputs & pre-outs

The Sony 1000 receiver does not have pre-outs. I believe the Sony ES-2400 is the lowest model Sony receiver with pre-outs. Looking at the top middle in the picture below you can see an example of pre-outs. If you don't have those you are SOL.

...mmm, this is another noticeable disadvantage of the DN-1000, i think i will be better if i go with any Harman/kardon AVR (refurbish)
