Hmmm... That season was better than the second season and maybe even this one (only two episodes thus far).

Obligatory note:

Yes, the UK version is identical to the U.S. release. Both are produced by Sony and region-free.

It's a great blind buy, IMO. I loved the first season, one of the best things on TV in a long time. Unfortunately, the second season wasn't as good, but I am holding out hope for the third season.

Sony has basically admitted sales for the first season were awful. They abandoned both Damages and Rescue Me on Blu-ray, making them orphan seasons.

I wish they'd realize the price difference affects those sales. Follow Lionsgate, which releases Blu-rays the same as their DVD counterparts (e.g., Weeds), and maybe the BD sales will increase. As it happens, I will not own Damages: S2 -- I'll just rent it and call it a day.

ummm, because of the crazy prices? i mean UK's prices were more in line w/what it SHOULD be.

w/most TV seasons at around $1 or less per 43minute episode, Blu-Ray TV season paks are charging a premium or 2, 3+ and HBO is more like 4+ when newly released... OF COURSE NO ONE WILL BUY IT!

w/TV seasons heading towards .50 for 43min. episode, why should any1 pay that much more?

OP here-recently studios said they would revert back to SD for some TV Shows, because of low sales for BD. It seems "Damages" was one of them-despite the fact that it's award-winning. Despite the fact that it's an excellent show, they completely mispriced these BD seasons. $15-$30 is the sweet spot, IMO (and sales reflect it-everytime seasons drop to that level, they fly off the shelves at Amazon, Best Buy,etc). Damages Season 1 was $55.99 when it was 1st sold. I purchased mine at $30 a few years ago, at J&R during a sale, and for me it was worth it. However, unless they have a lower price point initially, when the season is released, they'll keep running into the same thing. For certain shows I'll purchase the BD seasons, but the discrepancy between BD and SD prices needs to be reworked. Apparently the studios are reviewing their strategy,so hopefully the pricing will be in our favor going forward. Amazon UK still has a "Let me know once available" sign up link for Damages Season 2 in Blu, and I signed up just in case-if anything to show demand, but I am not holding my breath that it will actually be pressed. This is one of the best shows on TV, it's a real shame they botched up their BD strategy-I would have purchased all seasons.

Great.. now i have no excuse to pair this up with BSG: The Plan SB.. damn u amazon.co.uk to know how to intice me to buy stuff!!!!!!1111oneoneone

I agree with u DB.. the pricepoint on this season on amazon.ca/.com or any other website is pure ridiculous and Sony blames the poor sales to not release the 2nd season and beyond on BD.. gimme a break.

I've never seen this show, but I've heard great things about it, and for $17.45 shipped, I couldn't resist. Thanks OP, and thanks to atexp80 for the heads-up about the new lower price!

Received mine and finished watching it. Shame i will have to declare season 2 and 3 deceased since it will not come on blu-ray. Mine came in a bit dented on the slip cover but asides that all else was fine.

Sony and other studios have to really stop being greedy and pricing things at ridiculous prices. This should be a relatively good hint where they should price things (i would say around $30-$35 excluding tax is about right).

Stop blaming consumers that don't sucker into your ridiculous pricing to not release a great series onto blu-ray! *end rant*
