This was quite an remarkable film. Probably one of Theron's best performances.

You could really feel the pain and agony she goes through.

I saw this a few days ago, still not quite sure what to make of it...going into it, I can certainly say that I didn't expect it to go the way it did towards the end (I'll say nothing more, so as to avoid spoilers - for those that wanna catch this in theaters, the less you know about it going in, the better!). Theron is just as good here as she was in Young Adult, but as it stands now I'd say I prefer Young Adult.

I went into the movie because I'm a huge fan of "Young Adult", and I'm glad I saw it but I wish I had set my expectations to something other than "Young Adult", it's really not like that movie, it's a more grounded and human character story.

This will be yet another film not coming out on blu ray here in the Uk so I hope it's not region A locked

Yep, agreed on that last point. Since my first post in this thread, I actually saw Tully a second time in the theater, and the final act of the film worked better for me this time around.

Of course they had to ruin good coverart with the ugly border (what the heck is the point of it?). Studios are so dumb.

Hopefully this is region free. Once again the UK is being left out with no Blu ray. An annoying trend lately. Probably going to chuck this in my basket next time I do an Amazon US order if it's not locked.

I bought the UHD digital copy, which includes the one extra, for $15 on VUDU. I imagine buying the physical disc, which I want but will only get me a regular HD digital copy, will cost $20.

Sadly, I expect to be doing this a bunch in the future -- but I'll pick it up when I find it in a used store.

So there won't be a UHD digital code at all for this one? Trying to make sure before I drop $15 as well.

That sucks. I'm used to it being the other way around. There are so many low budget movies that I've had to import from Europe or Australia because they only got a DVD release in America.

Not sure where one would expect to get a UHD digital code if there is no accompanying UHD physical release.

Same here. Having said that, it’s getting a release in Germany in early October so you will be guaranteed a copy regardless if you don’t mind waiting.

Recently saw Tully on Blu. Excellent film. Movies about mothers & families don't typically interest me, but I'll watch anything with CT - great actress.

The movie is a reminder (as if we needed one) that our priorities & attitudes change as we get older & more "settled down" - whether or not you have a family.

I honestly did not realize

[Show spoiler]that the night-nurse "Tully" was imaginary until the scene in the hospital near the end, when the psychiatrist asked the husband if CH had ever experienced mental illness - then everything fell into place.

Re: the old "friend" that CH saw in the coffee shop, she was referenced when Tully was talking about her room-mate & how they were "enmeshed", which is why she couldn't move out. Obviously, the CH character felt guilt for how things went down with the room-mate (the old friend) and was working it out through the imaginary "Tully".

All in all, a solid film.
