Default Tom Cruise Signs Up for Mission: Impossible IV

Hope they go back to the roots of the first film....

Quote:
Who says you can't go home again?

More than three years after Tom Cruise was unceremoniously ushered off the Paramount Pictures lot, the not-so-controversial-anymore movie star is reteaming with the studio for a fourth Mission: Impossible film, Cruise's rep confirms to E! News.

The 47-year-old family man will be reprising the role of Ethan Hunt, secret agent extraordinaire, in the latest sequel, set to start shooting this summer in time for a release around Memorial Day 2011.

There's no director yet, but Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec have been tapped to write the script.

Mission: Impossible III director J.J. Abrams, no longer a gamble as far as feature-filmdom goes thanks to Star Trek, will coproduce along with Cruise.

M:I-3 was a blast. Looking forward to it. Hopefully we'll get lossless releases of the first three too.

Thumbs up

This is great news, the first three were all excellent films and I have no doubt the fourth will be as well.

2 and 3 were terrible! I hope the 4th is more like the first film. Yes I have part II in my collection because it came in a 2 pack with the first one. (It's for trade)

I agree, I thought Abrams did a fantastic job with MI3, I enjoyed it the most out of the three--hoping IV will be along the same lines.

Please tell me J.J. Abrams isn't wasting his genius in producing this crap when he should be working on a Star Trek sequel or great new action film.
