If you are looking for rare steelbooks your living in the wrong country. With Disney dedicating resources to Ironpacks, there will be fewer steelbooks

Collecting anything for the sake of future profit is a dangerous endeavor. "Collectibles" tend to lose most any value but sentimental/personal as most current "collectibles" are manufactured in such quantities and kept pristine by far too many collectors.

I would think this would be a decision you would have to make for yourself. Rather to open your Steelbooks or not is up to you. Whether or not you only buy Steels for movies you already own is up to you. And you never know what Steelbooks will be rare or not. It depends on a few things. The amount of Steelbooks produced, how many other countries are producing the same movie as a Steelbook. Do multiple countries have the same artwork for the same steelbook? It all just depends. Best Buy had The Hurt Locker Steelbook and it became Rare very fast. It was going for very good amountd of $$ But then a few other Hurt Locker Steelbooks got released a couple months later and The Best Buy version went down in value a bunch.

And if you are referring to the Disney movies being released at Best Buy then they aren't Steelbooks. They are IronPacks.

Hope i helped

No, they are steelbooks from last year's Disney run. The Iron Packs are being released for this year's Disney run.

Cheers

Agreed. Buy them because you like them, not for a possible future profit.

This is what I do. It bugs me when I see scratches on my steelbooks so I prefer not opening them. But I don't collect them thinking they will be rare, I collect them because they look so much better than regular cases.

Just so everybody knows. I didnt mean I was only going to buy steelbooks and bank on them becoming rare, etc. That part was me just wondering.

If/When I buy steelbooks. I will only buy them if I truly want it or not. Not because I could think I could turnaround and sell it for 2-3 times what I paid for it

BTW. Where is the Best place to get a I am Legend Steelbook(Amazon, etc)?

Which IAL Steelbook? There is a Canadian (Futureshop) one that is VERY RARE and Hard to find and when you do find it expect to pay $250+ depending on its condition.

There is also a German IAL that you can buy on Amazon.de for about 30-35 Euros. ($40-45)

Exactly, especially when the next format that replaces bluray is out, a bluray steelbook would be in the same league as a DVD steelbook.

I was taking about the German One. I noticed Amazon has 3 left of the IAL German steelbook. I guess that would be easier to order than order from Amazon.de, right?
