Hello All, I have a Sony STR-DG800 7.1 receiver, a Magnavox NB530MGX blu-ray player. I have them connected with an HDMI cable for video and an optical cable for audio, because my receiver will only accept HDMI video signal. Here is my problem, I have 7.1 speakers set up and I have the receiver set to "Auto Format Direct" but it doesn't highlight the surround back speakers but there is sound coming from the speakers. I have tried multiple blu-rays with 7.1 audio like: Rambo, & CSI: Season 1. What am I doing wrong? Last edited by Aholland06; 02-06-2010 at 11:28 PM.
