Damn it. I haven't seen Pearl Harbor since the movie theater and I swore I wouldn't buy this thing, but if I keep seeing threads like these I may yet be tempted to do something rash.

I too just bought Pearl harbor and Holy Cow did my sub get a workout. The bass is so real it just surrounds the room. The Dynamics of the LPCM 5.1 track are just ROOL: amazing!

I really enjoyed the HD presentation for Blu-Ray!
I'm suprised that it was so dark though, I don't remember it being this dark a film...but I guess it's to give it a gloomy sad look.

Anywho...I highly reccomend it!

BTW, Gary...welcome to the board!

Since my AVR is old it can’t support the (Dolby/dts etc new-codes) unless I get an affordable AVR that has the kitchen sink onboard.

At least I can get away with the Dolby digital 5.1 track that envelopes around the room once it reaches chapter 20.

How much did it fair from switching from Dolby digital to Linear Pulse Code Modulation 5.1?

I believe you can, especially when someone necroposts for no constructive reason.

Get used to it with this guy. He posts at AVS under the same name and all he really does is make these long posts that no one really seems to read or respond to. They're just...statements.

^^^ The UK guy with a billion surround speakers. That guy blows my mind each time I try reading anything he types. I must admit, he is amusing at times.
