Default Need help with the sound levels of Sony BDP-N460

Hi guys! I just bought and hooked up my first Blu-Ray player last night! First impressions are...that the sound levels are screwy. The voices are very quiet, and I have to turn the volume up quite a bit higher to hear voices than I had to on my DVD Player. I play the sound through the TV speakers (Pioneer SD-533HD5), not a stereo surround sound. Problem is...then the action scenes or music scenes come on, and it is ridiculously loud! I spent the whole time last night turning the volume up and down while watching. This cannot be the way it is. I checked the manual and the audio settings, but didn't see anything that appeared to me to be able to adjust anything like this. Anyone have any advice?

I don't know what the default setting is.
Double check in the player's setup menus, that the audio output is set to PCM and not Bitstream. Since I'm not familiar with this model, that's all I can suggest.

You NEED to have a 5.1 surround sound system if you have a Blu-Ray player. That's the reason you cannot hear the voices, as it is coming out of what should be a center speaker. Music, SFX, ambient noise is almost always coming from the left/right channels, that is why it is so much louder. Seriously, you are missing so much not having a surround sound system! Get one!
