Isn't this a result of Shout's licensing deal with Universal, or did Universal's rights to these movies revert to Laika?

I already have 3 of the films in 3D/Bluray. I don’t have Kubo yet. Unless Shout releases 4K versions, I’m not sure how much they can approve them. I’m fine with my copies.

I'm interested to see how these turn out and what special features are included. I already have all releases from Laika now though~so unless it is really tempting I don't do the double dip :P

Hopefully these aren’t reissues at $20+ each. I’m sorta kicking myself for not buying these when they were $5 each before going OOP.

Universal couldn't renew their distribution rights to the Laika productions. Laika owns nearly all their titles outright, and Shout are presumably licencing these reissues directly through them.

If these are sold as bundles with accurate figures of the title characters for each film, I may splurge.

Hmm yeah, what I figured. $20+ and they dropped the digital. Really wishing I bought the prior releases when they were cheap. Boring generic cover art too.

Will happily upgrade when/if a 4K release happens. Until then, I already have the beautiful "Ultimate Laika Collection" steelbook from a few years ago that contains all 4 of these films + digital copies.

Hopefully those who missed out on the prior releases will be able to snag these.

So glad I have ‘em all in 3-D. CORALINE and KUBO in particular are absolutely astounding in 3-D. I can’t fathom watching them without it.

So will Coraline have better video than the Universal release?

So, Shout re-issuing the Laika stuff, but still on Blu-Ray, and with boring DreamWorks-style headshot cover art? Nice that they're back in print for those that missed out, but I'll be holding onto my Universal releases.

You know I remember hearing this via twitter and, don't quote me on this, but I remember them saying these movies were going to be on 4k. Maybe it was just a rumor that they were reporting. It would be nice though! Coraline is gorgeous!

I only had Coraline on DVD years ago that I got rid of (totally over DVD's) but I never got it on Bluray which is crazy because I love it. I've pre-ordered it!

Pre-orders up on Amazon. Unlike at Shout's website, the Amazon pages shows them with slipcovers
